The cycleway will follow the alignment of Shea's Creek

The proposed cycleway will continue north of Alexandra Canal, along the path of Shea's Creek. This area is known as Gateway Reach. The cycleway will follow the creek alignment as far as Maddox Street, and eventually connect with the City of Sydney's other cycleway projects which will take it into the heart of Sydney's C.B.D.

Funding for the Gateway Reach section of cycleway was granted in 2001, and a Development Application (D.A.) for its construction was lodged in 2003, amid much fanfare. Due to heritage and planning issues, the DA was delayed, but approved in 2006, and design work is underway. It has been a slow process!

Problem:
Interminable delays, for a project which was due to start construction years ago.

Solution:
A little more patience with the City of Sydney Council?
