Caterair section

Short (250m?) section between Coward Street and Ricketty Street Bridge.

Status:
Caterair has built their car park and access road along part of the 10m setback from the canal and has wire fences at the southern and northern boundaries, preventing easy access on this "missing link" between the existing cycleway and Ricketty Street Bridge. However, we understand that Caterair intend to lodge a DA for redevelopment in the near future and Botany Council planners will be asking them to include development/funding of the cycleway along their stretch of the canal as a requirement.

Problem:
Access between existing cycleway and Ricketty Street Bridge is blocked by Caterair site fences.

Solution:
Long term - the impending redevelopment of the site will include a new cycleway.
Shorter term - can they be pursuaded to buy community goodwill by opening up the fences and their car park access road in the meantime?

How you can help:
Watch this space - we'll keep you updated of progress and whether Caterair or Botany Council need any pursuasion...
